About us

HIstory

In January 2025 the lease for the Gorgie Farm site was secured by the charity Gorgie Community Farm. Since first opening in the early 1980s Gorgie Farm has been the vision of local people aiming to create a green space for community benefit.

The farm has always been central to the Gorgie and Dalry community, offering work experience, training, and nature-based learning in the heart of the city. It has been loved and nurtured by generations, creating memories and affection across Edinburgh and beyond for all who have visited or worked within the farm.

Purpose

Our aim is to continue this vision, to secure and sustain Gorgie Community Farm as an inclusive community asset through strong partnerships and, by sharing space, generate the income to ensure GCF remains a dynamic, collaborative and natural space.
